Ethics Related to Conducting Research in SL

Objectives:

• identify issues related to conducting research in SL
• develop an ethical standard/protocal for researching in SL
• define the parameters for ethical research in SL
• research existing parameters of MUVE/MOO collections (Dene Grigar, Rob Koch, Cynthia Hayne)
• develop an Edited Collection pertaining to SL Research
• adopt a standard that enables recognition of legitimate Immersive World studies by RL institutions

Ethics Related to Documentation, Publications, and Plagiarism (SL Desideria Stockton - RL Beth Ritter-Guth)

Objectives:                

•  identification of types of resources
•  development of a community standard for documenting resources

Action Items: Invite librarians to participate and write a paper on this area (Invitation sent April 26, 2007 via SLed - BLRG)
